epi Student Membership
Rules governing the epi studentship1. Each applicant to be registered as a student of the epi must complete an application form to be obtained from the Secretariat of the Institute.
2. The application form must be counter-signed by a person who is either a European Patent Attorney on the list or a person acting as a representative under the provisions of Article 133 EPC or is employer, who is responsible for the training of the applicant at the date of application.
3. The completed application form must be accompanied by a payment of EUR 80, which will be effective to the end of December of the third year after the date of application.
4. If a registered student wishes to continue his/her studentship for the fourth or any subsequent year, he/she has to submit another application form in respect of each such year. Such continuation application forms have to be accompanied by a payment of EUR 45 and to be counter-signed by the same or another person according to point 2 above.
5. The completed original and continuation application forms in case of doubt have to be vetted by a designated member of the Professional Qualification Committee (PQC), who has to refer any queries to the chairman of this Committee.
6. During the currency of the studentship, the Secretariat of the Institute undertakes to supply each student with:
a) his/her own copy of "epi Information" as published;
b) a copy of the study guide;
c) contact data of other epi students in his/her country or region (if he/she has agreed to forward his/her data)
d) Information about the training and tutorial facilities arranged by country or region may be obtained from the IP calendar of the European Patent Office.
7. A registered student may resign at any time by writing to the Secretariat of the Institute to that effect. There will be no refund of any subscription in respect of the remaining period of his/her registered studentship. His/ her subscription to "epi Information" will be cancelled by the Secretariat of the Institute when convenient to it.
